ABOUT OUR FEATURE ARTISTS

Marcus Tatton – Land Artist
Marcus is a public space sculptor working around Australia and New Zealand. Versatile in his processes and media, Marcus creates unique sculpture interventions to mark contemporary attitudes and experiences. Much of his practice is creating one off works for exhibition in national sculpture forums. Living in the quiets of remote Tasmania, Tatton holds a fringe perspective on humanity. It takes form both as a personal politic, of how we individual humans interact with nature, and as a world politic concerning the cumulative effect our species imparts upon ground.

Shannon Best – Traditional Owner – Artist Lead
Shannon Best is a profoundly talented and multifaceted individual deeply rooted in indigenous culture and the arts. His career highlights a dedicated engagement with cultural preservation, notably through his work at the Yugambeh Museum and as a Cultural Engagement Officer for the City of Gold Coast. Shannon has been pivotal in implementing cultural capability and indigenous engagement courses, climate resilience strategies, and indigenous artists camps, showcasing his commitment to integrating indigenous values and histories into broader community initiatives.

Corrina Bonshek – Composer and Sound Artist
With 20 years of composing across concert halls, and festivals to her name, composer and sound artist Corrina Bonshek (PhD Western Sydney University) has a deep passion for crafting listening experiences that provoke wonder at the beauty of nature, the cosmos and the human. Corrina’s accolades include the 2022 Queensland Music Award for Best Contemporary Classical Composition and finalist in 2018 Australian Art Music Award – Instrumental Work of the Year. In 2021, she co-founded Corrina Bonshek and Collaborators to create and tour immersive music experiences. Corrina Bonshek and Collaborators is supported by the City of Gold Coast.
