Description
Inspired by Japanese art, a recent trip to Japan in 2024 and one of the originals of ‘The Great Wave of Kanagawa’ by Hokusai.
Traditionally this depicts a life journey of conquering our fears on the waves and knowing that life will throw many waves our way for us to conquer every time but in Japan perhaps the wave of Western influence slowly creeping in to change Japanese culture.
My wave represents newness, freshness, change, and the need for a great wave of compassion for humanity.
Materials Timber, paint, glue, fixings, upcycled boat, upcycled wooden shelf supports and chopping board.
