Paynter-OMeehan’s work primarily consists of hand-crafted sculptures using textiles and crochet techniques. Inspired by nature and organic forms, her works are a medium for capturing and preserving moments of joy and curiosity, evoking a sense of nostalgia and wonder in the viewer. Using vibrant colours, hints of brightly coloured beads and gold to truly highlight how we hold special memories in such high regard, the artist immerses us in a macro micro world of patterns and details.

About the Artist
Jill Paynter-O’Meehan is an esteemed artist based in Perth, Western Australia, whose practice is centred around the captivating medium of installation. Utilising a diverse range of materials, including textiles and ceramics, Paynter-O’Meehan creates immersive and thought-provoking installations that engage the viewer’s spatial awareness. With a deep-rooted sensitivity to patterns and colours, her work inevitably evokes a sense of joy and wonder, inspired by the beauty of nature. Through her installations, Paynter-O’Meehan strives to spark a profound connection with the environment, prompting reflection and appreciation for the wonder and complexity of our surroundings. Since graduating from Curtin University in 2015 with a BA in Fine Arts, Paynter-OMeehan has worked on a multitude of arts projects and collaborations, with particular focus on community engagement in Perth and regional areas of Western Australia.
