Description
He is a local artist, passionate about transforming discarded tin cans & found objects into artworks. The tin can is of significant historical value. In times of war, famine & trade. It provided diversity of food to all corners of the globe. It is now largely overlooked and part of the increasing environmental litter problem. Each artwork pays homage to the can’s past glory, showcasing a journey of transformation: Turning waste into Art.

About the Artist
Joe now works full time as an artist, developing and experimenting using various techniques. Past works were largely bronzes for commissions Eg: Battle of Long Tan, 25th anniversary, Themis Goddess of Justice, The Modern Australian Soldier. Since working as Cantiquity (use of cans): Rebel, Chariot, Spirit of Cantiquity (ship), Can-Can Boot, The Penny Farthing Station (sold at Swells 2024), Australian Gothic, Amadeus, Alley Cat.
