About Kerry Cannon
Kerry Cannon moved to Australia from the United States in 1995. After a year of experimenting with painting, wood carving and other mediums, he decided to sculpt bronze. The sculpture is usually figurative and narrative often telling stories or creating work around a central theme. In 2003, Kerry opened his big project Ceramic Break Sculpture Park located by Warialda, NSW to the public. Ceramic Break is currently about 20 hectares, with plans underway to double this area in the next 5 years. The Park is a conduit to explore Australian and world history, expand themes in Kerry’s narrative bronze series into larger versions and entertain visitors. Kerry shows annually in Victoria, New South Wales, Queensland and overseas. In 2023, he won prizes in the Georges River Prize(NSW), Hanging Rock Winery Exhibition(VIC) and Inverell City Gallery Prize. He is currently finishing his “Barbie” mini-series, to show in Sculpture Tucson (Arizona) March 2024.
