Description
Inspired by continuing failure to resolve use of single use plastics, and the detrimental and unnecessary effect on the environment Rosie strives to recycle and reuse materials, always leaving a footprint ‘as small as possible’, she believes we all need to conserve our limited resources.
The vessels in this installation were constructed from discarded plastic vegetable bags and industrial shrink-wrap.
The waste plastics were shredded, hand-spun into strong twines, and simultaneously hand-woven into the final multi-stranded 3D forms. “If we look after our environment, the planet will look after us”
Materials Soft plastic produce bags, industrial shrink-wrap
