SWELL Ambassador and First Nations Storytelling with Luther Cora. 

Join us each morning at 9:30 am across 10 days from 10-19  September to listen to Luther Cora teach us about the mullet season and the story of the black cockatoo in the Meeting Place at SWELL Kids Elements, Wallace Nicoll Park, Pacific Parade, Currumbin Beach.

Luther will be talking to us for 15 minutes and then we can ask questions and have a yarn. So if you have a question, bring it along and have a chat with Luther Cora.

Luther Cora is an inspiring advocate for Indigenous Culture, his Totem is the Black Cockatoo. A proud member of the Cora and Trare Families which come from the Bungaree Family, who are traditional people from Gold Coast area, also known as the Yugambeh Language group which is made up of several tribes, clans and family groups. Luther is a contemporary aboriginal dancer, artist, photographer, storyteller and ambassador for his people. His family are proud of their strong connection to this country and their Culture.

Luther’s stories of the history of the local First Nations people are the inspiration behind the sculptural designs for the SWELL Kids Elements workshops in 2021. Monte Lupo has designed a mullet fish and a black cockatoo for young artists to paint and take home with them.
