Description
The process Lorraine has developed, fuses porcelain and fine fabric together. Allowing her to purposely contour each fold within the vessel, sculpting each piece from the inside out.
The essence of “HUSH” seeks to unravel the layers that define us. The complexity within these vessels, mirror the unique and intricate depths that lay within.
With a deliberate and considered colour palette creating a visual language in the narrative. The porcelain body is simultaneously fragile and strong, contributing to the feeling of vulnerability that is intrinsically woven within the human condition.

About Lorraine Dean
Graduating from Lismore Tafe with a Diploma of Ceramics in 2023, having previously studied theatrical costume and set design, Lorraine was seeking a challenge and delved deep into many facets of incorporating fabric and clay. With a lot of trial and error, research and investigation, she experiments with process. Developing her own unique technique to create sculptural vessels that not only explore the relationship with ceramics and fabric but the connections to our own emotions and experiences.
